In March 2006, the New Hampshire State House voted overwhelmingly to reject an anti-gay constitutional amendment with 83 Republicans voting against the proposal. GOP Representative Jim MacKay from Concord said the vote reaffirmed his faith in the House. "The Legislature demonstrated once again that it's a reasonable body that deals with things in a fair, responsible way," he said. "They don't like prejudice. They don't like hate." Log Cabin applauds Representative MacKay and the 82 other Republicans in the New Hampshire State House who stood up against the politics of division and intolerance.
