Domestic Partners Benefits and Obligations Act

Log Cabin Republicans endorse this bill, which entitles federal employees and their domestic partners to all benefits and obligations of married federal employees and their spouses.

Early Treatment for HIV Act

Log Cabin Republicans support the passage of ETHA, which would provide states the option of amending their Medicaid eligibility to extend coverage to uninsured, low-income persons with HIV, before they progress to full blown AIDS.

Employment Non-Discrimination Act

Log Cabin Republicans support extending federal employment discrimination protections currently in place based on race, religion, sex, national origin, age and disability to sexual orientation and gender identity.

The Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act / Matthew Shepard Act

Log Cabin Republicans support the Matthew Shepard Act, which would classify violent crimes motivated by prejudice over sexual orientation and gender identity as hate crimes.

The Military Readiness Enhancement Act

Log Cabin Republicans support this bill to repeal the federal law banning military service by openly lesbian, gay and bisexual Americans, commonly referred to as “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.”

The Respect for Marriage Act

Log Cabin Republicans support the full repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act to provide legally married same-sex couples recognition under federal law. 

Log Cabin Republicans calls on Congress and expects them to enact a three-year extension of this law, which procures funding for low-income, uninsured, and under-insured people living with HIV/AIDS and their families, before its September 30, 2009 expiration.

Safe Schools Improvement Act

Log Cabin Republicans endorse this bill, which will provide funds for schools to prevent bullying and harassment, including on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity, as well as requiring states to report bullying and harassment data to the Department of Education.

The Tax Equity for Health Plan Beneficiaries Act

Log Cabin Republicans support this bill, which seeks to provide uniform tax treatment for employer-provided health insurance, ending taxation of benefits for domestic partners under employers' health plans.

Health Care Public Option

Log Cabin Republicans oppose Obama's proposed public option for health insurance.

Second Stimulus

Log Cabin Republicans oppose the second stimulus plan that President Obama has stated he may try to enact in the coming months.
