2005 Log Cabin Convention
2005 Log Cabin Republicans National Convention New Orleans, LA—March 31-April 3, 2005 Hundreds of fair-minded Republicans from across America enjoyed the 2005 Log Cabin Republicans National Convention and Liberty Education Forum National Symposium. The event was held from March 31-April 3 at the Royal Sonesta Hotel in the heart of the French Quarter on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. This fantastic weekend of political strategy, speeches, and socializing featured former New Jersey Governor Christine Todd Whitman. Governor Whitman brought a message of inclusion and resolve to work with Log Cabin Republicans to help create a big tent Republican Party. Whitman said, “I am proud to be a member of the Party of Lincoln, but I recognize that carrying that label also carries a burden. Those of us who are the modern day heirs of the party Lincoln first led to victory have an obligation to ensure that the GOP remains true to the principles on which it was founded."
